Sprachtechnologische Standard-Werkzeuge stoßen in den Digital Humanities nicht selten an ihre Grenzen: die untersuchten Texte weichen in zentralen Eigenschaften von den gängigen Entwicklungsdaten ab, oder die zugrundeliegende Forschungsfrage erfordert Werkzeuge für spezielle Analyseaufgaben. Das "Center for Reflected Text Analytics" (CRETA) entwickelt und erprobt interdisziplinär Methoden, mit denen Werkzeuge und Algorithmen für die Textanalyse entlang der traditionellen fachspezifischen Fragestellungen und Vorgehensweisen angepasst und weiterentwickelt werden. Dabei werden diese Methoden wissenschaftstheoretisch und in ihrer Funktionsweise nachvollziehbar gemacht, um im Zusammenspiel mit Datenvisualisierung und Computerlinguistik durch die Anwenderinnen und Anwender reflektiert eingesetzt werden zu können. Der vorliegende Band führt in Einzelanalysen vor, wie eine interdisziplinär entwickelte und reflektierte Methodologie technische Möglichkeiten integrieren und alternative Blickwinkel auf den wissenschaftlichen Umgang mit Texten eröffnen kann. Er bietet so eine Einführung in den methodisch reflektierten algorithmischen Umgang mit literarischen und nicht-literarischen Texten.

Understanding the role of humans in environmental change is one of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century. Environmental narratives - written texts with a focus on the environment - offer rich material capturing relationships between people and surroundings. We take advantage of two key opportunities for their computational analysis: massive growth in the availability of digitised contemporary and historical sources, and parallel advances in the computational analysis of natural language. We open by introducing interdisciplinary research questions related to the environment and amenable to analysis through written sources. The reader is then introduced to potential collections of narratives including newspapers, travel diaries, policy documents, scientific proposals and even fiction. We demonstrate the application of a range of approaches to analysing natural language computationally, introducing key ideas through worked examples, and providing access to the sources analysed and accompanying code. The second part of the book is centred around case studies, each applying computational analysis to some aspect of environmental narrative. Themes include the use of language to describe narratives about glaciers, urban gentrification, diversity and writing about nature and ways in which locations are conceptualised and described in nature writing. We close by reviewing the approaches taken, and presenting an interdisciplinary research agenda for future work. The book is designed to be of interest to newcomers to the field and experienced researchers, and set out in a way that it can be used as an accompanying text for graduate level courses in, for example, geography, environmental history or the digital humanities.

Esta Antología personal de la escritora argentina Alicia Kozameh, precedida por un Estudio preliminar de la catedrática María A. Semilla Durán, tiene un doble objetivo: el de iniciar al lector en el conocimiento de una obra literaria personalísima por una parte; el de guiarlo en su lectura e interpretación de la misma por otra. Los textos así seleccionados están organizados cronológicamente, y constituyen un corte transversal de la obra total, que deja ver cada uno de los estratos que la componen. El volumen se prestigia con una reflexión inédita de la autora sobre la indefensión de la persona ante la escritura autobiográfica. El estudio preliminar que introduce el volumen acompaña el viaje del lector a través de los textos, analizando las secuencias seleccionadas y leyéndolas desde una perspectiva global, atenta a la evolución de la escritura al hilo del tiempo. Para completar la mirada crítica, incluimos al final un instrumento pedagógico destinado a los estudiantes que quisieran trabajar sobre las obras de Alicia Kozameh, consistente en una serie de orientaciones válidas para la indagación de su escritura.
