Paul Schrader was in meltdown in 1972. Drinking heavily, living in his car, he was hospitalised with a gastric ulcer. There he read about Arthur Bremer's attempt to assassinate Alabama Governor George Wallace: the story was the germ of his screenplay for Taxi Driver (1976). Executives at Columbia hated the script, but when Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro, who were flying high after the triumphs of Mean Streets (1973) and The Godfather Part II (1974), signed up, Taxi Driver became too good a package to refuse.Scorsese transformed the script into what is now considered one of the two or three definitive films of the 1970s. De Niro is mesmerising as Travis Bickle – pent-up, bigoted, steadily slipping into psychosis, the personification of American masculinity post-Vietnam. Cybill Shepherd and Jodie Foster give fine support and Scorsese brought in Bernard Herrmann, the greatest of film composers, to write what turned out to be his last score. Crucially, Scorsese rooted Taxi Driver in its New York locations, tuning the film's violence into the hard reality of the city. Technically thrilling though it is, Taxi Driver is profoundly disturbing – finding, as Amy Taubin shows, racism, misogyny and gun fetishism at the heart of American culture. In her foreword to this special edition, published to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the BFI Film Classics series, Amy Taubin considers Taxi Driver anew in the context of contemporary politics of race and masculinity in the US, and draws on an exclusive interview with Robert De Niro about his memories of making the film. Being an aerospace engineer and having a private pilot licence, this thesis for HEC was the perfect opportunity for me to develop a company linked to the aviation. A couple of years ago, I had the idea that air-taxi was the new way to travel within Europe. Indeed, more and more people have more than one million of dollars on Earth and in Europe, the large companies does not want to waste time in crowded airports and spend money for hotel rooms that are not absolutely necessary. The air-taxi is the solution for these people but also for a larger public. If the destination is a remote place where there is a small airport but the regular airlines do not provide flights to go there, the air-taxi is also a solution. Consequently, the goal of this thesis is to present an air-taxi company based in Liege Airport. This base has been selected because there are a lot of advantages: 24H/7D operations, no regular airline during the day, two runways and so on. Moreover, I believe in the development of this city and therefore a more intensive use of its airport could help the growth of the region. In the thesis, the main themes of a company creation are treated. It begins with the business model explained in details, then a small market analysis is made. It is certainly the part that needs to be deepened in further studies. After that, the competitors are analysed and it is shown that a regular airline is not cheaper in all cases. The critical elements of the company are then selected (aircraft model, number of planes,…) and a cost per hour can be calculated from there. The strategy is the next important topic with for instance a SWOT matrix. To complete the thesis, a finance plan is shown to prove the viability of such a company.

All around the world, new companies are creating and joining a new economic model. The activity of these companies is based on their platforms. Through these, the potential customers and sellers are connected. This model is called « sharing economy ». The sharing is not a new idea, but sell through the disposal technology widens the scale. This model does not change what we consume, but the way we consume (Petit, 2016). The studies show that this phenomenon will take more and more scale in the coming years. In the light of this phenomenon dimension, it pushes aside the traditional companies. Indeed, it leaves nobody indifferent. The Brussels-Capital Region did not escape this phenomenon. Nowadays, more than 500 vehicles from Uber circulate in the capital streets.
