Le régime d’épargne protéique (REP) sont actuellement très à la mode. Peu d’études scientifiques valables les concernant ont été réalisées. Aucune étude prospective de grande échelle n’a jamais été lancée, ne fusse que pour tester leur sécurité d’emplois. Ceci, alors que de plus en plus de personnes tentent de réaliser ce type de diète sans suivi médicale.
Ce travail présente tout d’abord les explications physiologiques du régime. Ensuite, on trouve les résultats encore partiels d’une étude prospective multicentrique concernant 300 patients. Le but principal de cette étude étant de prouver la sécurité de la méthode.
L’étude n’étant pas achevée, je ne peux présenter que les résultats des 42 patients enrôlés dans mon cabinet et qui sont arrivés à la dernière visite ou qui ont abandonné.
Les conclusions sont déjà intéressantes puisque plusieurs résultats sont déjà significatifs. La perte de poids en phase 1 étant de 335.11 +- 18.48 gr/jour. Elle reste rapide en phase 2. La réduction de cholestérol sur une période moyenne entre V et VF de 45 jours est de 30.57+-2.83% avec p<0.001 en partant d’un niveau de départ modéré de 217 mg/100 ml. Il n’y a pas d’hypotension orthostatique lors de la visite finale
