Die kritische Neuedition (Editio Critica Maior) der Johannesapokalypse sieht sich einer ebenso außergewöhnlichen wie faszinierenden Texttradition gegenüber. Umfangreiche Untersuchungen zur Überlieferungsgeschichte des letzten Buches des Neuen Testaments sind daher maßgebliche Wegbereiter der anstehenden Textkonstitution. Dies gilt sowohl für die griechischen Handschriften als auch den Versionen und patristischen Zitaten der Apokalypse. Aber auch paratextliche Elemente mit zusätzlichen textkritischen Informationen sind im Einklang mit der modernen Editionswissenschaft zu beachten. Die Beiträge des vorliegenden Bandes dokumentieren die laufenden Arbeiten an der Editio Critica Maior der Johannesapokalypse und machen wichtige Ergebnisse der Fachwelt wie der breiten Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. This edited volume presents analyses of the Greek manuscript tradition as well as text-critical and text-historical assessments that contextualize the various versions and Patristic declarations. Essays on scholia commentary and on art history integrate the findings from the textual analysis into a broader perspective on intellectual history.

By examining the forms of literary communication in the Archaic and Classical periods, this volume reconstructs for the first time the emergence of titles in ancient Greek literature, systematically investigating the causes of the phenomenon, analyzing its consequences, as well as its effects, on the manuscript tradition of Classical Greek authors. Nel volume si ricostruisce la nascita dell’uso dei titoli nella letteratura greca antica. Nello specifico, si indagano le cause del fenomeno, le sue implicazioni e i vari effetti prodotti nella tradizione manoscritta di molti classici greci. La I Parte del lavoro è di natura teorica. Essa mira a definire concetto, forme e funzioni dei titoli in campo letterario. Questa Parte intende, inoltre, proporre un metodo di analisi delle citazioni di opere antiche. La II e III Parte ripercorrono invece storicamente l’emergere della prassi dei titoli. La II Parte è dedicata a opere poetiche prodotte tra età arcaica e classica, la III a quelle in prosa. La III Parte mostra inoltre com’è cambiata nel IV secolo a. C. l’arte di scrivere un proemio con l’uso dei titoli. Il volume si chiude con due appendici. La prima è dedicata al problema dei titoli delle Elleniche di Senofonte e al rapporto di quest’opera con quella di Tucidide. La seconda è di carattere bibliografico.
