This monograph focuses important points related to growth habits in stone fruit trees and represents a significant contribution to the field of breeding for improved fruit tree growth habit. A team of experts in the field have produced an information platform based on an orderly and coordinated set of measured parameters. Each growth habit within a species is defined and discussed, terms are defined (glossary), objective tree growth data are presented, and reference cultivars are provided.Illustrations represent a useful visual guide to each growth type. This monograph thus seeks not only to describe the main tree habits found in five important stone-fruit species but also to identify the morphological keys unlocking their characterization and, in the process, provide some suggestions for their practical exploitation.

"This book explores the thought of Pierre Bourdieu, one of the most influential sociologists of the twentieth century, proposing a modification and extension of his concept of habitus. Building on Bourdieu's notion of the translational reproduction of social structure - the idea that while social classes move in the same direction, dominant groups are able to preserve their relative power position, thus maintaining the structure of the gap - the author proposes that as social structures change, habitus change correspondingly, and thus become plural. Informed by Norbert Elias' process sociology, this volume offers examples of habitus pluralisation, arguing that this modification of Bourdieu's thought renders it more suitable for the study of social changes and represents the development of a path that Bourdieu himself had begun to explore in the later stages of his career. As such it will appeal to scholars of sociology and social theory with interests in historical sociology, process sociology, social structures and the thought of Bourdieu"--

"Writing has always been digital. Just as digits scribble with the quill or tap the typewriter, digits compose binary code and produce text on a screen. Over time, however, digital writing has come to be defined by numbers and chips, not fingers and parchment. We therefore assume that digital writing began with the invention of the computer and created new writing habits, such as copying, pasting, and sharing. Habitual Rhetoric: Digital Writing before Digital Technology makes the counterargument that these digital writing practices were established by the handwritten cultures of early medieval universities, which codified rhetorical habits-from translation to compilation to disputation to amplification to appropriation to salutation-through repetitive classroom practices and within annotatable manuscript environments. These embodied habits have persisted across time and space to develop durable dispositions, or habitus, which have the potential to challenge computational cultures of disinformation and surveillance that pervade the social media of today"--
