his book gathers reviews and articles on the role of O-GlcNAcylation in cancer underlying the pharmacological targeting of the O-GlcNAcylation enzymes OGT and OGA as a promising anticancer strategy. Particular attention is paid to the involvement of O-GlcNAcylation in the regulation of transcription and as a link between nutrition and epigenetic dynamics or cellular energy metabolism. The role of O-GlcNAcylation in metastasis, immune responses, and resistance to chemotherapeutic agents is also discussed.

This thesis by Jenny Carlsson explores the interactions in complex fluids, such as serum and meat juice, using optical biosensor techniques. The research focuses on differences in protein glycosylation patterns across various species and examines global glycosylation changes in serum proteins of type 1 diabetes patients. Techniques like null ellipsometry and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) were used alongside multivariate data analysis methods. The study demonstrates the potential of combining lectin panels with multivariate data analysis and highlights a novel, faster SPR-based immunoassay for detecting insulin autoantibodies in serum samples, which could be beneficial for early diabetes detection.
