Abstract

Op een dag krijgt Yuto een bijzonder kistje van een oude meneer, die zegt: ?In dit kistje zit alles wat je nodig hebt.? Thuis krijgt Yuto het kistje niet open. Als hij de volgende dag op zoek gaat naar de oude man, is hij nergens meer te vinden. In de nacht voor zijn zevende verjaardag droomt Yuto van hem en blijkt de volgende dag dat het kistje geopend is en een hartvormige pit bevat. Yuto plant de pit, die uitgroeit tot een boom. De boom wordt Yuto?s beste vriend en heeft veel invloed op zijn verdere leven; hij ontmoet er zijn vrouw en zijn zonen spelen rond de boom. Aan het eind van zijn leven geeft Yuto op zijn beurt het kistje aan een jongetje dat naast hem komt zitten onder de boom. Groot prentenboek met een filosofisch verhaal en bijzondere, kunstzinnige illustraties en vormgeving. De dromerige tekeningen in gedempte kleuren met veel bruin en grijstinten hebben vele uitsnedes die doorkijkjes bieden. Soms is dat een enkele vorm, maar soms ook een complex patroon zo fijn als kantwerk. De natuur speelt een grote rol in de afbeeldingen. Het verhaal lijkt een Oosters sprookje en bevat lessen over het leven. Een bijzondere uitgave die zowel jong als oud aanspreekt. Geschikt om voor te lezen vanaf ca. 6 jaar.© NBD Biblion

Abstract

The book presents a collection of original scientific studies aimed at identifying the pigments and dyes in several archaeological or historical objects and artworks. The objects under investigation span from ancient Greek vases to modern paintings, and show the importance of scientific analysis not only to reveal the artists’ materials in different contexts, but also to support conservation and curatorial strategies for the preservation and display of cultural heritage.
