Les essais réunis dans le recueil KinoFabula interrogent les images du cinéma dans leur rapport originel et sans cesse renouvelé avec la littérature sous toutes ses formes (fable, conte oral, poésie, théâtre ou roman) et analysent les différents types de relations et de circulation qui permettent le dialogue des œuvres : relations intergénériques (fable cinématographique, ciné-skaz, poème cinégraphique…) ; relations intermédiales entre les mots de la littérature et les images du cinéma qui en sont un commentaire a posteriori mais qui favorisent aussi, par un effet rétroactif, un retour sémantique sur les textes et nous renseignent sur le régime de leur interprétation ; relations temporelles qui imbriquent l’Histoire – le passé historique – dans les histoires – le présent de l’énonciation fictionnelle. Les œuvres qui entrent ainsi en dialogue sont considérées comme des espaces (textuels ou visuels) de transition, des objets à jamais imparfaits et inachevés mais qui aspirent à être chacun complétés de la même façon que, selon Walter Benjamin, une traduction viendrait compléter le texte dit « original » et en révéler le mode de visée. En s’ajoutant les unes aux autres, en se commentant les unes et les autres, en se traduisant les unes les autres ou en se réécrivant les unes les autres, les œuvres littéraires et visuelles participent du mouvement même de la culture qui ne cesse de « métisser » et de réinterpréter et ses propres données. The essays in this anthology examine the images of cinema in light of their original and ever-changing relationship with literature in all its forms (fables, oral tales, poetry, theatre and novels). Mythen dienen der Selbstverständigung. Ihre Deutung, aber auch Umwertung prägt die Diskurse über Kultur. Mythen verstehen sich somit als kulturelle Substanzen, die immer wieder neu befragbar, um- oder überformbar sind. Ihr ästhetisches, soziales, aber auch politisch-ideologisches Potenzial bedarf kritischer Überprüfung; es verlangt aber auch nach vergleichenden Untersuchungen, zumal dann, wenn diese Mythen für die kulturellen Wechselbeziehungen zwischen zwei Ländern so maßgeblich (gewesen) sind wie im Falle Britanniens und Deutschlands. In diesen Beziehungen stehen neben der Wahrheit der Mythen auch die Wirklichkeit der Vorurteile, nicht minder aber Versuche, auf das jeweils Andere konstruktiv einzugehen. Angelsächsische und deutschsprachige Mythentheorien werden in diesem Band ebenso einander gegenüber gestellt wie exemplarische Ausprägungen der Mythen in Literatur, Kulturtheorie und bildender Kunst. Dabei werden die ästhetischen wie politischen Implikationen mythenbewusster Ausdrucksformen ebenso berücksichtigt wie motivgeschichtliche Ansätze und die Frage nach dem, was die "Gegenwärtigkeit des Mythos" in beiden Kulturen bedeutet und wie sie das britisch-deutsche Verhältnis weiterhin konditioniert.

What was the perception of Greece in Europe during the later 19th century, when the attraction of romantic philhellenism had waned? This volume focuses on the reception of medieval and modern Greece in the European press, rigorously analysing journals and newspapers published in England, France, Germany, Italy, and The Netherlands. The essays here suggest that reactions to the Greek state's progress and irredentist desires were followed among the European intelligentsia. Concurrently, new scholarship on the historical development of the Greek language and vernacular literature enhanced the image of medieval and modern Greece. This volume's contributors consider the press's role in this Europe-wide exchange of ideas, explore the links between romantic and late philhellenism and highlight the scholarly nature of the latter.

Para ello, explora el fenómeno hasta ahora difuso de la anglomanía - moda de las ideas, influencias y estilos ingleses que dominó la Europa del setecientos - y su fenómeno opuesto, la anglofobia, en tres tipos de prensa bien diferenciados, todo ello en conjunción con la propia coyuntura nacional y el programa de reformas borbónico. Además, esta obra enfatiza la labor de estos periodistas y periódicos, así como sus conexiones con el poder, a la vez que los sitúa como agentes fundamentales de esa red europea de intercambios materiales e intelectuales que sustentó la República de las Letras. Con todo ello, este volumen contribuye a la serie de debates dedicados a la reevaluación de la Ilustración española que buscan situarla en el mapa de las Luces Europeas de entonces y de ahora. This book constitutes the first monographic study of the cultural transfers from Great Britain to Spain through 18th-Century periodical press, one of the most innovative genres of the period. It exploresthe notion of anglomania - the craze for all things English which spread throughout all Europe - and its reactive phenomenon, anglophobia, offering a contextualised analysis of the transmission, reception and adaptation of BritishEnlightened ideas and reforms in three different types of Spanish periodicals. In so doing, this volume brings to the fore the work of some understudied writers and journalists and situates these important periodicals and their connections to power as a key part of a wider European context of material and intellectual exchanges that sustained the Republic of Letters. This in turn, contributes to recent scholarship arguing for a central place of Spain in the intellectual map of the Enlightenment. This collection of essays studies the expression and diffusion of radical ideas in Britain from the period of the English Revolution in the mid-seventeenth century to the Romantic Revolution in the early nineteenth century. The essays included in the volume explore the modes of articulation and dissemination of radical ideas in the period by focusing on actors ('radical voices') and a variety of written texts and cultural practices ('radical ways'), ranging from fiction, correspondence, pamphlets and newspapers to petitions presented to Parliament and toasts raised in public. They analyse the way these media interacted with their political, religious, social and literary context. This volume provides an interdisciplinary outlook on the study of early modern radicalism, with contributions from literary scholars and historians, and uses case studies as insights into the global picture of radical ideas. It will be of interest to students of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century literature and history.
