Can design do justice to a diverse society? How does it respond to the disparate demands of the people using it? Debates about inclusion and participation have been an important part of the design discourse since at least the 1980s. Contemporary design approaches expand existing concepts, reinterpreting them in a community-based, participative design practice. This volume presents a variety of recent projects and initiatives drawn from different design disciplines and opens a dialogue with international researchers and educators, connecting practice and discourse for the first time. Engaging with a range of different voices on Inclusive Design strategies can be seen as part of a paradigm shift that radically questions society's normative values: Can design contribute to a more just society? With contributions from Quemuel Arroyo, Tom Bieling, Jos Boys, Hua Dong, Rama Gheerawo, Elizabeth Guffey, Aimi Hamraie, Grace Jun, Joe Manser, Florence Okoye, Gianna Rovere, Joel Sanders, Gabrielle Schaad, Markus Schefer, Cecile Shellman, Evelyn Steiner, and Sara Zeller.- Source: Homepage Museum für Gestaltung.
