Cardiac cell repair therapy is an innovative approach for the treatment of heart failure, a severe pathology in which the heart becomes unable to perform its vital functions. Stem cells taken from the patient are injected into the injured myocardium after differentiation in vitro into pre-cardiac stem cells. A high number of studies evaluated the ideal cell type, the feasibility and the safety of stem cell therapy. However, the results are still modest showing a slight improvement in heart function. These results are however promising and further studies are necessary to go deeper into several critical parameters like the delivery system or the administration timing Depuis quelques années, la thérapie cellulaire cardiaque apparaît comme une approche innovante dans le traitement de l’insuffisance cardiaque, une pathologie grave dans laquelle le cœur devient incapable d’assurer ses fonctions vitales. Cette thérapie, qui a pour objectif d’améliorer la fonction cardiaque, est basée sur les capacités des cellules souches mésenchymateuses, prélevées à partir de la moelle osseuse du patient, à se différencier en cardiomyocytes après réimplantation dans l’environnement myocardique natif. Les études préalablement réalisées ont permis de déterminer le type cellulaire idéal, la faisabilité et la sécurité des thérapies cellulaires. Cependant, les résultats parfois encore mitigés, ne montrent qu’une faible mais non négligeable amélioration de la fonction ventriculaire gauche. Ces résultats sont très prometteurs car il n’existe, à ce jour, aucune autre thérapie curative de l’insuffisance cardiaque. D’autre part, de nombreuses études sont encore nécessaires afin d’approfondir plusieurs paramètres cruciaux comme, par exemple, la méthode d’injection ou encore le timing d’administration
