De Energy5 ecowagen is een energiezuinige prototypewagen volledig gebouwd op een carbon monocoque chassis.Vorig jaar werd de wagen samengesteld uit de al reeds bestaande onderdelen. De wagen is reeds rijklaar maar heeft nog afwerking nodig.Dit eindwerk toont het proces om de Energy5 in een hoger niveau af te werken. Delen als de motor, de carrosserie, de kleurensamenstelling, het vormen van nieuwe ruiten en het reduceren van gewicht komen aan bod en worden verbeterd. Verder mag de aerodynamica niet vergeten worden, en dit steeds met het wedstrijdelement in het achterhoofd. Er werden compromissen gezocht tussen esthetisch mooi, doeltreffend en gewicht reducerend.Vorig jaar sneuvelden al Belgische records in zijn klasse, dit jaar is het tijd voor het internationale werk en volgt onder andere de Shell Eco-marathon te Rotterdam. The Energy5 ecocar is an economical prototype car. It is built on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis.Last year, the car was built out of the already made parts. The car is ready to run but still needs some finishing.This thesis shows the process of the Energy5 to finish it in a higher level. Parts like the engine, the body, the color scheme, the forming of the new windows and reducing weight are all done within this thesis. The optimalisation of the aerodynamics may not be forgotten, also the competition aspect must be still in the mind. Compromises are searched between efficient, reducing weight and still looking good.In the past year, the Energyteam broke some records on national level, this year it is time to compete on international level at the Ahoy arena in Rotterdam where the Shell Eco-marathon takes place.
