This textbook is written for students who are new to Coptic and for those who already have a first understanding of the language. The approach allows for classroom teaching as well as for private study. The book consists of two main parts, elements and constructions, followed by application exercises and a selection of texts. The student gradually learns the Coptic constructions (nominal articulation and different kinds of sentences) with reference to the elements that are relevant for each construction. A Coptic Learning Grammar is not only a teaching method for Sahidic, the "classical" Coptic dialect, but can also be used as a reference tool for students who are already familiar with the language. The concept of the book allows for a systematic use, but can also be used for didactic purposes. It offers a clear survey of the basics of Coptic grammar and the exercises necessary to master those basics.

"Transitivity and Aspect in Sahidic Coptic consists of three studies united by the common topic of voice alternations in Sahidic. Having established that the Coptic verbal system is based on split causativity (for the term see Kulikov L.I., 'Split causativity: remarks on correlations between transitivity, aspect, and tense'), the work introduces the concept of an aspect-transitivity grid, in which the unmarked infinitival form is ascribed the voice-aspect meaning according to the conjugation pattern it appears in. The work establishes a correlation between the morphosyntactic properties of verbs and their semantic properties, such as lexical aspect and agentivity. Chapter 2 explores the formal and semantic properties of the periphrastic circumstantial construction. Voice marking phenomena in Greek-origin verbs are examined in chapter 3. The results obtained in this study may be further used in language contact research, as well as in general and typological linguistics."--Publisher's website (viewed 18 January 2023).

Sahidisch ist der wichtigste Literaturdialekt des Koptischen. Seit langem gelten moderne kritische Editionen der sahidischen Übersetzung des Neuen Testaments als Desiderat der Forschung. Ein Forschungsprojekt (P29315) des Österreichischen Wissenschaftsfonds (FWF) ermöglichte eine kritische Edition des sahidischen Johannesevangeliums. Ihr liegen 172 verschiedene, zu großen Teilen fragmentarisch erhaltene, Handschriften zugrunde.
