The proceedings of Rose of Viterbo’s second canonisation process have been published. The process was announced by Pope Callixtus Ⅲ in 1456 and took place in Viterbo the following year, whereas the first one began immediately after Rose’s death, in 1252 (she was most likely born in 1233). No documents of the 1252 process have survived, but the 1457 process left extensive papers — two logbooks (the first and the final draft) that report the local process records and many collateral documents. They are all stored up in the historical archive of the Santa Rosa in Viterbo monastery, which is now part of the General Archive of the Federation of Urbanist Poor Clares of Italy.
