Highly visual and easy to navigate, OCT and OCT Angiography in Retinal Disorders is a concise, reliable reference for optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT angiography findings in both common and uncommon retinal disorders. Each chapter explores the prognostic features of OCT and OCTA scans along with additional diagnostic modalities for comparison and correlation. Where appropriate, longitudinal changes in response to treatment or natural history are also discussed. Includes hundreds of high-quality, striking images. Highlights the salient imaging features of the clinical entity or entities being discussed. Covers OCT technology, techniques, and scanning patterns. Provides concise, authoritative guidance on numerous key areas in retinal disease, including retinal vascular disease, inflammation, retinal degenerations and dystrophies, ocular trauma ocular tumors, and much more.

This book covers the state-of-the-art techniques of optical coherence tomography imaging for the diagnosis of retinal diseases. It is part of a three-volume work that describes the latest imaging techniques in which to bring optical coherence tomography, fundus Imaging and optical coherence tomography angiography to accurately facilitate the diagnosis of retinal diseases. Clinical disorders of the retina have been attracting the attention of researchers, aiming at reducing the blindness rate. This includes uveitis, diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, endophthalmitis, proliferative retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma. Treatment is significantly dependent on having early and accurate diagnosis, which can be significantly improved by employing the techniques described in the book.

Vision is the most important sense in higher mammals. The retina is the first step in visual processing and the window to the brain. It is not surprising that problems arising in the retina lead to moderate to severe visual impairments. We offer here a collection of reviews as well as original papers dealing with various aspects of retinal function as well as dysfunction. New approaches in retinal research are described, such as the expression and localization of the endocannabinoid system in the normal retina and the role of cannabinoid receptors that could offer new avenues of research in the development of potential treatments for retinal diseases. Moreover, new insights are offered in advancing knowledge towards the prevention and cure of visual pathologies, mainly AMD, RP, and diabetic retinopathy.
