The study consists of one of the areas examined in the course of a recent research that deals with the cultural aspects of cancer subjects in Quebec, using the clinical angle of medical anthropology. Facile à lire, cet ouvrage donne de nombreuses pistes concrètes pour le travail thérapeutique dans le quotidien avec les enfants et les jeunes. La thérapie orientée vers les solutions est une thérapie systémique dans la mesure où elle considère individu, couple et famille comme des sous-systèmes appartenant à des systèmes plus larges. L'accent est mis sur les interactions. Les solutions ne sont pas amenées par le thérapeute, mais elles sont découvertes et mises en œuvre par les patients grâce au questionnement du thérapeute. L'auteur décrit d'une manière très compréhensible le travail thérapeutique pratique avec les enfants, les adolescents et leurs familles : comment créer la coopération avec tous les membres de la famille ? Respecter les besoins des enfants et adolescents pendant la séance ? Comment le thérapeute peut aider les enfants à trouver la balance entre les demandes non négociables des adultes, la vie quotidienne et les intérêts des jeunes ?
