The OECD Economic Outlook is the OECD’s twice-yearly analysis of the major economic trends and prospects for the next two years. Prepared by the OECD Economics Department, the Outlook puts forward a consistent set of projections for output, employment, prices and current balances based on a review of each member country and of the induced effect on each of them on international developments. Coverage is provided for all OECD member countries as well as for selected non-member countries. Each issue includes a general assessment, chapters summarizing developments and providing projections for each individual country, three to five chapters on topics of current interest, and an extensive statistical annex. Subscribers to the print edition also have access to an online edition, published on internet six to eight weeks prior to the release of the print edition, and now available from Issue 1 from 1967 onwwards.

De sociale economie heeft in de geïndustrialiseerde landen gedurende de laatste twintig jaar een ware heropleving gekend. Buurten, sociale bewegingen, gemeenten en vele andere actoren spelen hierin een belangrijke rol. Anderzijds zien we in de ontwikkelingslanden dat de sociale economie een bijdrage levert aan de ontluikende civiele maatschappij. Bovendien worden met de sociale economie innoverende initiatieven ontplooid om de enorme economische en sociale uitdagingen aan te pakken. Zelfs als de terminologie en de realiteit in Noord en Zuid sterk variëren, zijn de gelijkenissen in de dynamiek opvallend. Met dit werk wordt voor de eerste maal een kader geboden waardoor de sociale economie van zowel het Noorden als het Zuiden tegelijk kan bestudeerd worden. Het beschrijft de realisaties van de sociale economie in belangrijke sectoren zoals gezondheid, sparen en kredietverlening, internationale handel en de strijd tegen de werkloosheid. Ook worden in een aantal hoofdstukken nieuwe evoluties geanalyseerd. Dit boek toont aan dat overal coöperaties, mutualiteiten en verenigingen hun plaats innemen tussen de traditionele publieke en private sectoren.
