For the first time since the nineteenth century, this book provides a one-volume compendium of all know crusader types, listed in an easy to use catalogue format. Incorporating the recent research of prominent scholars in the field of crusader numismatics, this work covers both issues in the Levant and crusader Greece, as well as comprehensive listings for the Lusignan Kingdom of Cyprus. Each coin is accompanied by a description and complete transcription of its legends, as well as cross references and metrological data. Most of major types are illustrated both wit in-text line drawing and in photographic plates. The work is also augmented by numerous charts and graphs. The coinage is set firmly in context with detailed sections of historical background as well as the monetary history of the Crusader states. Several chapters also include an extensive bibliography (medieval as well as modern) and translations of medieval texts relating to crusader coinage
