Doelstelling: De terminologie aangaande neonatologie die niet in woordenboeken is opgenomen of die bij de vertaling van Nederlandse teksten naar het Duits voor problemen zorgt, bespreken en in een woordenlijst opnemen. Middelen of methode: Er werd uitgegaan van Nederlandstalige vakliteratuur en vervolgens gezocht naar parallelle teksten in het Duits. Resultaten: Er zijn weinig Nederlandstalige teksten te vinden ivm neonatologie. Ook het vinden van Duitse vakliteratuur was niet eenvoudig. Het zoeken naar voldoende contexten over elke term zorgde ook soms voor problemen. Uit het onderzoek blijkt dat vele termen i.v.m neonatologie al in de Duitse medische woordenboeken zijn opgenomen. Het merendeel van de termen kan ook letterlijk vertaald worden. Sommige termen hebben geen equivalent in de andere taal, maar worden omschreven.
