Er zijn overal cijfers. Als we de krant openslaan, zien we bladzijden, data, prijzen, jaartallen, tijdstippen, hoeveelheden,… Om op tijd te zijn, ingrediënten af te wegen, de vervaldatum van producten te controleren, de uurregeling voor trein of bus te lezen, de juiste bus te nemen,… telkens opnieuw hebben we getallen nodig. Goed kunnen rekenen wordt in onze maatschappij ook heel erg gewaardeerd. Bij sommige mensen gaat het leren rekenen vlotter dan bij andere.
