Avec le Dictionnaire culturel en langue française, Alain Rey réussit en 2005 un nouveau coup de maître. Cela a inspiré l'idée d'un colloque international en son honneur au thème de "Cultures et Lexicographies". Henri Meschonnic a prononcé le discours d'ouverture, "Du sens des mots au sens du langage avec Alain Rey".
