 This publication aspires to clarify and illustrate the role of higher education in promoting internationalisation, especially Internationalization at Home (IaH). It aims to highlight higher education's three central roles: teaching, research, and community service, each in its global context. The anthology actively promotes change and development in the higher education sector and identifies strategies like online learning platforms and community partnerships that make higher education more accessible and enhance its benefits. The publication comprises two interconnected sections: the first addresses the evolving classroom dynamics due to IaH, focusing on curriculum adaptations for a varied student body. The second section delves into educational goals, emphasizing an international perspective. Targeted at educators and researchers, the anthology offers guidance on integrating international and intercultural perspectives into curricula and teaching methods, with a focus on social inclusivity.

Weiterbildungsgutscheine und -schecks werden seit einigen Jahren in Deutschland verstärkt eingesetzt, um die Weiterbildungsbeteiligung von Beschäftigten und Betrieben zu erhöhen. Auch in Europa, so in der Schweiz, in Österreich und in Südtirol, gibt es ähnliche Programme. Die Studie bilanziert die Ergebnisse eines Forschungsprojektes zu Weiterbildungsgutscheinen in diesen Ländern. Die Autorinnen und Autoren diskutieren empirische Ergebnisse zu diesem Finanzierungsmodell und analysieren dessen Wirkungen im nationalen und internationalen Kontext. Nach einem Überblick über aktuelle Förderprogramme in Deutschland analysiert die Studie die Rolle finanzieller Zuschüsse für Weiterbildungsteilnahme, die Nutzung durch Zielgruppen (z.B. Geringqualifizierte) und intensiv nachgefragte Weiterbildungsthemen. Besondere Schwerpunkte liegen dabei auf den subjektiven Perspektiven der Beschäftigten bei der Wahl ihrer Weiterbildungen sowie auf neuen Ansätzen der Wirkungsforschung in diesem Kontext. Over the past few years education vouchers and education cheques have been used in Germany in order to increase the participation in continuous professional development. There are similar, regionally structured programmes in Switzerland, Austria and in South-Tyrol. The study provides the results of a research project related to the effectiveness of professional development vouchers in those countries. The authors discuss their empirical results about the voucher programmes and analyse the effects in the national and international context. After an overview of current support programmes in Germany the study analyses financing structures, target groups (e.g. the low-skilled workers) and intensively demanded professional development topics. A particular focus thereby lies on the employees' subjective perspective in their selection of professional development as well as on new approaches to impact research in this context.
