Roman Ingarden (1893-197 ), phénoménologue polonais disciple de Husserl, est une des grandes figures de de la philosophie et de l'esthétique du XXe siècle. Reconnue et étudiée en Pologne, dans les pays de langue allemande, mais aussi en Europe du Nord, voire aux États-Unis, sa pensée a été peu présente dans les débats français, alors même qu'elle a des choses fondamentales à nous dire dans le champ de l'ontologie tout aussi bien que dans celui de l'esthétique et des études littéraires.Le présent ouvrage se donne pour fin de réintroduire la pensée d'Ingarden dans les débats contemporains.
