Elements of Information Organization and Dissemination provides Information on how to organize and disseminate library and information science (LIS), a subject that is taught in many international Library Information Science university programs. While there are many books covering different areas of the subject separately, this book covers the entire subject area and incorporates the latest developments. Presets an overview of the entire subject, covering all relevant areas of library and information science Contains bulletpoints that highlight key features in each chapter Written in an accessible language, this book is aimed at a wide audience of LIS academics

This volume contains the papers that were presented at the ACM Recommender Systems Challenge Workshop 20181 which was held at ACM RecSys 2018, the 12th ACM Conference on Recommender Systems. The authors of these papers participated in the RecSys Challenge 2018 by designing and implementing recommender system algorithms for automatic music playlist continuation. We received 24 paper submissions, each of which received between two and four reviews from recognized experts in the area of recommender systems, information retrieval, and music. We eventually accepted 16 for presentation in the workshop.

With the digital transformation, the exponential increase in the number of tools and types of support with which human expressions can be created and transmitted brings with it new cultural paradigms that feed creative productions and vice versa, giving rise to new questions regarding how Heritage "works", what it "does" and what it "serves". This is the general context in which the research project described in this book is set, and the convergence that has been created over time between technologies, cultural heritage, and design, which today seem to implement a triangulation in which each vertex favors the relationship between the other two, opening up new and interesting research perspectives to explore.

Welcome to ACM ICTIR 2019, the 5th conference with that name to be fully sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Information Retrieval (SIGIR), and the 9th International Conference on the Theory of Information Retrieval. This year's conference continues its tradition of being the premier forum for presentation of research on theoretical and foundational aspects of Information Retrieval (IR).We are also happy to welcome you to Silicon Valley and Santa Clara University. Silicon Valley has a number of strong and vibrant IR groups in academia and industry, which are successfully engaged in both theoretical and practical work. Santa Clara University is the oldest operating institution of higher learning in California and the west coast of the United States. We believe that the university setting is ideal for stimulating ideas, discussion, and collaborations to come.
