The segmentation of images by mathematical morphology is a method based on the watershed and the use of the controlled markers. We analysed the various methods allowing to carry out the segmentation of the images.
In a first approach, we showed that the method based on the derivative makes it possible to obtain the lies contours representing the borders between the objects of the image. However, it does not provide contours surrounding the objects of interest.
The second approach based on the transformation watershed, allowed us to partition an image of intensity in various homogeneous zones separated by rigid lines. This is possible thanks to the basic tools of morphological mathematics which are : the geodesic dilatation, erosion, rebuilding and the skeleton; … Also, underlined in, the problem related to over-segmentation when the function watershed is applied to the image gradient and the solution brought to cure it. That is the reason why we presented two examples of segmentation watershed : one on the image of Lena and the other on an image IRM of brain La segmentation des images par la morphologie mathématique est une méthode base sur la ligne de partage des eaux et l’utilisation des marqueurs contrôlés. Nous avons analysé les différentes méthodes permettant de réaliser la segmentation des images.
Dans une première approche, nous avons montré que la méthode basée sur les dérivées permet d’obtenir les lignes contours représentant les frontières entre les objets de l’image. Cependant, elle ne fournit pas des contours entourant les objets d’intérêt.
La deuxième approche basée sur la transformation watershed, nous permis de partitionner une image d’intensité en de différentes zones homogènes séparées par des lignes rigides. Et ceci n’est possible que grâce aux outils de base de la morphologique mathématique qui sont : la dilatation, l’érosion, la reconstruction et la squelette géodésiques ; … Aussi, avons-nous souligné, le problème lié à la sur-segmentation lorsque la fonction watershed est appliquée sur l’image gradient et la solution apportée pour y remédier. C’est pour cela que nous avons présenté deux exemples de segmentation watershed : l’un sur l’image de Léna et l’autre sur une image IRM de cerveau
