Hier setzt die Untersuchung an. Es werden anhand des Prozesses des Organisierens, wie ihn Karl E. Weick entwickelt hat, die Entstehung von Pfadabhängigkeit analysiert und seine Ansätze zur Pfadvermeidung und -brechung aufgezeigt. Allerdings erweisen sich Weicks Konzeptionen als defizitär, weshalb die Probleme der Pfadbrechung und -verhinderung von ihm nicht gelöst werden.
