With 'The Konrad Fischer Years / 1964 - 1978', Herbert Foundation pays homage to the atypical art dealer who left an undeniable mark on the early development of the Collection of Anton and Annick Herbert. In addition to the eponymous exbhibition, the publication offers a subjective reflection on Fischer's activities and role within the international art world of the 1960s and 1970s. Alongside a reprint of the first interview of Konrad Fischer in 1971 for Studio International, the publication includes a comprehensive essay by Lynda Morris and the rendition of her in-depth conversation with Benjamin H.D. Buchloh and Kasper König. Art dealer Konrad Fischer (Düsseldorf, 1939 - 1996) opened his exhibition space on 21 October 1967 with the first European solo presentation of Carl Andre. Located in a converted alley in the Neubrückstrasse in Düsseldorf, it offered a platform for emerging, international artists under the name 'Ausstellungen bei Konrad Fischer'. In the following years, Fischer would show among others Hanne Darboven, Sol LeWitt, Bruce Nauman, Richard Long, Robert Smithson, Lawrence Weiner, Gerhard Richter and Mario Merz. Through his exhibition programme, Fischer enabled contact between European and US artists and transformed Düsseldorf into an international meeting place. Exhibition: The Herbert Foundation, Ghent, Belgium (21.01.2018-02.06.2019).

With Carte du monde poétique, the Herbert Foundation pays tribute to the artist and poet Marcel Broodthaers (1924 Brussels - 1976 Cologne). After they were introduced to him in the early 1970s, Annick and Anton Herbert started closely following Broodthaers' artistic practice, and his oeuvre would develop to become a cornerstone of their Collection. Situated in the 12-year span during which Broodthaers was active as an artists, the exhibition brings together a substantive selection of his installations, films, artists' books, printed material and other document that are part of the Herbert Collection. The title of the exhibition was borrowed from the work Carte du poétique (1968) and introduces the particular framework of references against which Broodthaers' body of work is explored. The illustrated essays in this accompanying publication focus more deeply on the works and documents of view and situate them within the broader context of Broodthaers' oeuvre.

From September 25, 2016 onwards, Herbert Foundation presents the exhibition Time Extended / 1964 - 1978. The presentation forms the first part of a diptych that unites the Collection and the Archive in a flexible, yet lasting manner. Time Extended / 1964 - 1978 focuses on the period surrounding the historic events of 1968, which also constitutes the outset of the Herbert Collection. The social shifts occurring in these years, as well as the contact with the artists and a number of progressive gallery owners, determined Annick and Anton Herbert's vision with regards to collecting. The title of the exhibition refers to Time Extended / Distance Extended, a work from 1969 by Dan Graham, which is part of the Herbert Collection. The apparent opposition between, on the one hand, outlining the period 1964-1978 and, on the other hand, 'extending' time, characterises the intention of the exhibition. Because, even though the presented works and documents are unmistakably connected to the period in which they were created, their content is also very valuable from a contemporary perspective. Exhibition: Herbert Foundation, Ghent, Belgium (September 25, 2016 - ).
