Lorsque l’épidémie de sida frappe, au début des années 1980, il s’agit d’une maladie dont les mécanismes sont méconnus. Un groupe de chercheurs reçoit la mission de fédérer les acteurs de la recherche dans la lutte et le développement des premiers traitements.
