The volume is a collection of reflections and analyses concerning widely understood and interdisciplinary terms such as well-being and health. The problems have been approached from a pedagogical perspective and referred to individual and collective, social contexts. The contributors to the volume are prominent scholars in Polish pedagogy, especially those working in the field of social pedagogy, but also younger researchers who begin their academic careers. The book takes up the issue of the determinants of public health and well-being both at the meta-social level and in the light of smaller structures of the family or local environment, yet it also looks into individual biographies and patterns of personality. The whole effort is dedicated to professor Ewa Syrek who has been one of the foremost scholars in social and health pedagogy
