Abstract

"Cet ouvrage vient en complément de l'édition intégrale du roman de Perceforest, qui s'est échelonnée entre 1987 et 2015. Il remédie à la disparité qui s'était introduite dans le choix des variantes entre les premiers volumes parus (Quatrième parti, Troisième partie, tomes I et II) et les volumes ultérieurs. La publication de ces variantes, souvent dignes d'intérêt, permettra de mieux comprendre les mécanismes de réécriture dans la copie de David Aubert (rédaction C) et de préciser, en les confirmant, les analyses de Gilles Roussineau sur la genèse de l'oeuvre et sur sa tradition manuscrite. Le savant éditeur a également joint la traduction complète de l'Historia Regum Britannie de Geoffroy de Monmouth dans la version inédite de David Aubert (Première partie) ainsi que quelques compléments à l'étude de la langue du manuscrit C, plus particulièrement en ce qui concerne le lexique."-- Page 4 of cover
