This atlas provides a concise overview of the principle of fat grafting and its clinical applications to treat aging in the central areas of the face in a minimally invasive manner. The authors start with a short description of the anatomical basis of facial aging and by presenting current facial rejuvenation techniques. Here the emphasis is on the process of harvesting and preparing macro-, micro-, intradermal and nano-fat for injection. Thanks to the book’s numerous illustrations and short descriptions, readers will find valuable information on where and how to inject the fat combined with the authors’ individual techniques and refinements. Aging is a major issue in today’s society. Facial rejuvenation procedures seek to enhance the final outcome and durability of surgery and to minimize drawbacks. The current trend is to use less invasive methods requiring fewer incisions, which produce more natural-looking results. This atlas shows the authors’ personal techniques to help achieve that goal.

This book deals with a special form of facial rejuvenative surgery, which considers the three-dimensional anatomy of the face and benchmarks it against biomechanical models of the face. Traditional approaches to the ageing human face have been based on a two-dimensional approach. The authors, however, consider the human face using a three-dimensional platform that reflects height, width and depth and thus defines spatial divisions or pilasters. The anatomically accurate and bio-physically based three-dimensional computational models, originally used to simulate facial expressions and subsequently in the dynamic evaluation of the various soft tissues, offer a valuable new tool for surgical techniques. The book is divided into four chapters, the first of which describes the historical developments, evolution of facelift procedures and review of traditional two-dimensional approach. The second chapter presents three-dimensional surgical anatomy of the face and neck with the introduction of "facial pilasters". Treating the human face as a collection of compliant and rigid structural components which obey engineering principles and its biomechanical behaviour is discussed in chapter three. The last chapter provides the reader comprehensive information on the surgical procedure for contour vector congruent facelift, including case studies. An alternative approach (Rejuvenative Facial Lipomorphoplasty) to the de-volumed ageing face with little sagging and skin excess is introduced together with case studies. This book was motivated by the desire to define the key steps in facelift techniques and provides an essential guide for young plastic surgeons, as well as experienced surgeons who are dissatisfied with the current two-dimensional platform.

Simplified Facial Rejuvenation is divided into sections that include anatomy and anesthesia, classifications, dermatologic procedures, suture lifts, surgical cariations of the face, surgical variations of the eyes, brow, neck, lips, nose, ear, and scalp, and medical legal aspects. There are multiple variations of suture lift procedures presented to allow the physician to decide which is best. Unique surgical procedures of the face are presented, many of which are techniques of minimal-incision facelift, and new techniques including resection of the supraorbital ridges, mesotherapy for hair rejuvenation, transblepharoplasty, browlift, and cervicoplasty with hexagonal excision, as well as new classifications of facial aging. The book brings together the more popular procedures for patients that include simpler methods of facial rejuvenation with less pain, shorter recovery time, less cost, and fewer complications.

Rhytidoplasty is a palliative procedure in which face wrinkles are surgically removed to promote a more youthful appearance. This book, written by leading specialists for Brazil and abroad, discusses a wide variety of topics related to facial rejuvenation. The first sections focus on the surgical planning, including psychological considerations, preparation of the patient and anatomical and biochemical changes caused by the aging process. It also describes the surgical anatomy of the forehead, face, neck and eyelids. The third section provides a comprehensive overview of the basic techniques of facelift with details of refined surgical approaches for each segment of the face and neck. It highlights liposuction techniques, lipoinjection as well as transference of stem cells, showing their importance in reshaping the facial contours. It addresses both the treatment of soft tissue and craniofacial bone structures to improve the aesthetics of the face. The next sections present the final scars after face-lifting, minimally invasive procedures as complementary approaches during rhytidoplasty and the associated procedures during rhytidoplasty. The last section discusses postoperative care. Aesthetic Facial Surgery consists of 64 chapters focusing on all aspects of face lifting, and meticulously describes surgical details not covered in other medical books. Featuring numerous figures, photographs, software and videos, it is a valuable resource for young and experience surgeons alike around the world.
