Le premier concept de façade médiatique transparente a été imaginé dès 1992 par ag4 mediatecture company (agence basée à Cologne et spécialisée en éclairage). Pour pouvoir réaliser cette idée, il fallait cependant développer la technologie DEL de manière à ce qu'elle puisse satisfaire aux exigences d'une façade médiatique [...] Il fallut huit pour maîtriser la technique et quatre années supplémentaires avant que le premier projet de façade médiatique ne voie le jour. Le présent ouvrage fournit une série d'exemples de réalisations à travers le monde. Maintaining transparency while being able to medialise large areas in an economically viable way are parameters which guarantee the success of the transparent media facade. Be it as stainless wire mesh or panels - compared to the standard LED screen the transparent media facade is superior in terms of size, cost efficiency and possible fields of application. Graphics and video, company and brand communication, artistic animations, information and entertainment: the transparent media facade offers manifold possibilities to communicate powerfully and effectively on a large scale.
