Fénelon est connu, mais est-il lu ? Peut-être les Aventures de Télémaque, son Traité de l'éducation des filles ou son Discours de réception à l'Académie. Il est portant l'auteur d'une œuvre méconnue qui mérite amplement d'être (re)découverte. Philosophe, théologien, écrivain, Fénelon occupe une place de premier rang dans le siècle de Louis XIV ; il en est l'un des plus brillants esprits et sans conteste le plus original. Sa vision politique, sa philosophie et sa mystique frappent par leur clarté et leur audace. Fénelon réussit à reprendre les grands principes de Descartes pour en faire les fondements d'une philosophie spirituelle à la fois rationnelle et chrétienne. En cela, il est l'anti-Pascal par excellence.
