Abstract

Abstract

This atlas provides a thorough overview on current surgical strategies in the treatment of esophageal diseases. The first part of this atlas is focused on basic diagnostic tools, indications and preoperative work up. The second part exhibits profound instructions for current surgical procedures illustrated with precise drawings in detail and operation note style text to enable the learning surgeon as well as the experienced surgeon to perform even the most complex operations. The basic principles of esophageal surgery as well as conventional surgery, endoscopic and minimal invasive techniques are vividly presented in response to the advances achieved in esophageal surgery.
