Der Band legt Evaluationsergebnisse der Projekte e-LiS und TELFI vor. Beide EU-Projekte haben zum Ziel, mittels E-Learning die Qualifikation von Strafgefangenen zu verbessern, ihre Chancen auf Beschäftigung zu steigern und ihre Integration in Arbeitswelt und Gesellschaft zu erleichtern. Der Sammelband richtet sich an alle, die sich für E-Learning im Allgemeinen und für Strafvollzug im Besonderen interessieren. Die Erkenntnisse und Handlungsempfehlungen decken unterschiedliche Aspekte von E-Learning ab. In den Untersuchungen der Evaluation ging es z.B. darum, wie die KursteilnehmerInnen E-Learning erleben und welche Effekte LehrerInnen und DozentInnen wahrnehmen. Es wurde ergründet, welche Vor- und Nachteile beim Einsatz von Lernsoftware bestehen. Eine Fallstudie widmete sich der Frage, inwieweit Unterschiede in der Lernmotivation und der Leistung bei einer softwaregestützten und einer persönlichen Betreuung bei Jugendlichen festzustellen sind. Die Ergebnisse belegen eindrucksvoll, dass das Lernen mit digitalen Medien positive Effekte auf die Entwicklung von Bildungsinteresse auf Seiten der Lernenden hat. Dies ist ein Anlass, über Konsequenzen für eine Neugestaltung des Lernens und Lehrens in allgemein bildenden und berufsbildenden Schulen nachzudenken.
