Die Mehrsprachigkeit der Schülerinnen und Schüler organisatorisch, pädagogisch und didaktisch zu berücksichtigen, ist eine der bedeutendsten und schwierigsten Aufgaben der Schule von heute. Historisch bedingt gab und gibt es mehrere Sprachgruppen in nahezu allen europäischen Nationalstaaten. Durch die Arbeits- und Armutsmigrationen der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts und durch die wachsende Mobilität der Arbeitskräfte in der globalisierten Wirtschaft von heute ist die Vielzahl und Verschiedenheit der Muttersprachen, die in den europäischen Ländern gesprochen werden, erheblich gewachsen. Diese Situation bedeutet eine große Herausforderung für die Schule, und zwar in rechtlicher, organisatorischer, pädagogischer und didaktischer Hinsicht. La première moitié du XXe siècle est fort mouvementée sur le plan pédagogique, en Belgique comme ailleurs en Europe et en Amérique du Nord. Dans l'enseignement catholique, nombreux sont ceux qui questionnent la validité des méthodes traditionnelles d'enseignement, abstraites et basées sur une démarche déductive. Certains proposent de viser "le coeur" plutôt que "l'intelligence" en introduisant des méthodes dites "actives" dans l'enseignement catholique. Pour mieux comprendre ces innovations introduites (ou non !) à l'Ecole catholique, cet ouvrage propose de réfléchir plus particulièrement à l'éducation religieuse et morale de la jeunesse catholique, tant dans l'espace proprement scolaire (programmes d'études, normes, manuels, institutions d'enseignement), que dans ses multiples prolongements (activités parascolaires, mouvements de jeunesse, associations religieuses, etc.). How do Muslims in Europe acquire discursive and practical knowledge of Islam? How are conceptions of Islamic beliefs, values and practices transmitted and how do they change? Who are the authorities on these issues that Muslims listen to? How do new Muslim discourses emerge in response to the European context? This book addresses the broader question of how Islamic knowledge (defined as what Muslims hold to be correct Islamic beliefs and practices) is being produced and reproduced in West European contexts by looking at specific settings, institutions and religious authorities. Chapters examine in depth four key areas relating to the production and reproduction of Islamic knowledge: a- authoritative answers in response to explicit questions in the form of fatwas; b- the mosque and mosque association as the setting of much formal and informal transmission of Islamic knowledge; c- the role of Muslim intellectuals in articulating alternative Muslim discourses; and d- higher Islamic education in Europe and the training of imams and other religious functionaries. -- Publisher description.
