Edited by the co-curators of the Meadows Museum, SMU exhibition of the same title, "Dalí : poetics of the small, 1929-1936" focuses on the Salvador Dalí's influences, iconography, technique, and materials throughout what was arguably the most productive period of the his career : a span of eight years during which the artist was an active member of the Surrealist group and completed nearly two hundred paintings - half of which were small in format, with the smallest measuring a mere two or three inches. This richly illustrated catalogue promises readers a closer look into Dalí's penchant for painting on a small scale.
