"Digital Video and Audio Broadcasting Technology – A Practical Engineering Guide" deals with all the most important digital television, sound radio and multimedia standards such as MPEG, DVB, DVD, DAB, ATSC, T-DMB, DMB-T, DRM and ISDB-T. The book provides an in-depth look at these subjects in terms of practical experience. In addition it contains chapters on the basics of technologies such as analog television, digital modulation, COFDM or mathematical transformations between time and frequency domains. The attention in the respective field under discussion is focussed on aspects of measuring techniques and of measuring practice, in each case consolidating the knowledge imparted with numerous practical examples. This book is directed primarily at the specialist working in the field, on transmitters and transmission equipment, network planning, studio technology, playout centers and multiplex center technology and in the development departments for entertainment electronics or TV test engineering. Since the intire field of electrical communications technology is traversed in a wide arc, those who are students in this field are not excluded either. "Digital Video and Audio Broadcasting Technology – A Practical Engineering Guide" is the second and grealtly enlarged edition of Walter Fischer’s "Digital Television", the well established reference work on this challenging technology.

Welcome to Podcast Solutions: The Complete Guide to Podcasting, Second Edition. We had a simple goal in mind while we wrote this book: to give you a straightforward overview of p- casting and share the information necessary to get you up and running with a quality podcast. Within the pages of this book, you'll find everything you need to know to get started in p- casting. We'll cover the history of podcasting, how to download podcasts, and, most important, how to produce and distribute your own podcast. We're not geeks, and this isn't a geek book. There's no way to detail step-by-step instructions for every piece of software that conceivably exists for podcasting, and we're not going to try to impress you with an exhaustive (and therefore exhausting) list of every website that has a- thing to do with podcasting (that's what Google is for). Things are moving so quickly in p- casting that it seems every day brings a new product or service announcement. If we covered them all, you'd never make it to the end of the book, and you'd never begin doing the one thing we really want to help you do: start making your own podcasts. Instead, we've used our c- bined experience to carefully select and detail the software, hardware, and services we feel stand out and deserve mention for helping people get started in podcasting. While we're at it, we don't think you're a dummy. Podcasting isn't for dummies.

The Digital Video Broadcasting Project (DVB) is an industry-led consortium of over 300 broadcasters, manufacturers, network operators, software developers, regulatory bodies and others in over 40 countries committed to designing global standards for the delivery of digital television and data services. Ulrich Reimers is the chairman of its Technical Module and is therefore able to provide up-to-date insider information. This second edition of the book was revised and substantially extended by a new team of authors led by Professor Reimers. New chapters include Data Broadcasting, Solutions for Interactive Services, and the promising Multimedia Home Platform (MHP). Substantially revised are those on MPEG-2 systems and multiplexing, the standard for terrestrial transmission and its decoding technique, and the first chapter, the introduction to the DVB world.
