Transnational cinemas are eclipsing national cinemas in the contemporary world, and Sino-French films exemplify this phenomenon through the cinematic coupling of the Sinophone and the Francophone, linking France not just with the Chinese mainland but also with the rest of the Chinese-speaking world. Sinophone directors most often reach out to French cinema by referencing and adapting it. They set their films in Paris and metropolitan France, cast French actors, and sometimes use French dialogue, even when the directors themselves don't understand it. They tend to view France as mysterious, sexy, and sophisticated, just as the French see China and Taiwan as exotic.As Michelle E. Bloom makes clear, many films move past a simplistic opposition between East and West and beyond Orientalist and Occidentalist cross-cultural interplay. Bloom focuses on films that have appeared since 2000 such as Tsai Ming-liang's What Time Is It There? , Hou Hsiao-hsien's Flight of the Red Balloon, and Dai Sijie's Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress. She views the work of these well-known directors through a Sino-French optic, applying the tropes of métissage (or biraciality), intertextuality, adaptation and remake, translation, and imitation to shed new light on their work. She also calls attention to important, lesser studied films: Taiwanese director Cheng Yu-chieh's Yang Yang, which depicts the up-and-coming Taiwanese star Sandrine Pinna as a mixed race beauty; and Emily Tang Xiaobai's debut film Conjugation, which contrasts Paris and post-Tiananmen Square Beijing, the one an incarnation of liberty, the other a place of entrapment. Bloom's insightful analysis also probes what such films reveal about their Taiwanese and Chinese creators.Scholars have long studied Sino-French literature, but this inaugural full-length work on Sino-French cinema maps uncharted territory, offering a paradigm for understanding other cross-cultural interminglings and tools to study transnational cinema and world cinema. The Sino-French, rich and multifaceted, linguistically, culturally, and ethnically, constitutes an important part of film studies, Francophone studies, Sinophone studies and myriad other fields. This is a must-read for students, scholars, and lovers of film.

Deze duomasterproef handelt over coproductie van publieke diensten, waarbij (individuele of groepen van) burgers (clients) voor een deel zelf instaan voor de diensten die ze 'verbruiken' in samenwerking met professionele dienstverleners (regular producers). Onze focus ligt op de specifieke vraag: “waarom coproduceren bepaalde mensen in bepaalde omstandigheden, en wat zijn de achterliggende redenen en motivaties hierbij?”. Deze onderzoeksvraag sluit aan bij het eerste generieke analysespoor binnen huidig coproductie-onderzoek. Om hierop een antwoord te formuleren is gebruik gemaakt van een comparatief multiple case study design, waarbij deze vraag is onderzocht binnen twee Vlaamse coproductie-initiatieven (of cases). Langs de ene kant de case mantelzorg (welzijn) en langs de andere kant de case buurtinformatienetwerken (BIN) (veiligheid). Het doel van de scriptie bestond erin inzicht te krijgen in het brede spectrum aan mogelijke motivaties door 'types' of 'profielen' van coproducenten op te stellen, en deze met elkaar te vergelijken. Hiervoor is gebruik gemaakt van hybride Q-methodologie. Q-methodologie brengt de verschillende meningen en standpunten van coproducenten in kaart door deze te clusteren in concrete typologieën. Op die manier zijn in totaal zeven types (of profielen) van coproducenten ontwikkeld. Voor de case mantelzorg identificeren we (1) de 'task-bounded affectionate', (2) de 'impure-altruist', (3) de 'impure-rationalist' en (4) de 'duty-bounded affectionate'. Voor de case BIN onderscheiden we (1) de 'task-bounded altruist', (2) de 'protective rationalist' en (3) de 'normative-rationalist'. De comparatieve cross-case analyse zoekt vervolgens naar verschillen en gelijkenissen tussen deze Q-types. De masterproef zelf bestaat uit vijf hoofdstukken: een conceptueel, theoretisch, methodologisch, empirisch en besluitend deel.

Ce travail de fin d’étude s’inscrit dans une réflexion sur l’impact urbanistique des réseaux, en particulier les réseaux d’eau. Dans les pays du Sud, le manque de moyens et d’investissements publics pour les services de base contraint les habitants des métropoles à opter pour des modes de gestion alternatifs, et la coproduction du service (c'est-à-dire un partage de la gestion entre un acteur public et des acteurs privés) est une configuration très usuelle. 
A Cochabamba, troisième plus grande métropole de Bolivie, le service d’eau fait intervenir une entreprise publique et des opérateurs locaux de petite échelle (OLPE(s)), qui se regroupent en associations de voisins (sur initiative citoyenne) à l’échelle d’un quartier. Ces différentes entités se partagent la production du service d’eau sur l’ensemble de l’aire métropolitaine. 
Ce travail questionne la durabilité de ce type de configurations en analysant des quartiers de l’aire métropolitaine où la gestion est assurée par des OLPE(s). Pour appuyer cette analyse un choix a été fait de constituer une grille d’indicateurs de durabilité. 
L’étude s’articule en deux temps en commençant par la construction de la grille d’indicateurs sur base de la littérature scientifique, puis par l’application de cette grille à un échantillon de 8 quartiers de l’aire métropolitaine sous gestion OLPE(s). Des enquêtes de terrain ont été réalisées pour recueillir les informations nécessaires et ont été compléter d’interviews pour analyser le système dans sa globalité.
L’objectif, outre la systématisation de l’analyse de durabilité via la construction d’un outil simple adapté à l’échelle d’étude est d’aboutir à des préconisations autour de ce mode de gestion alternatif.
