Body - art - performance - philosophy This anthology is dedicated to the theme of bodies - in transition, on thresholds, and at the edges of life. They are discussed in terms of their artistic, political, and existential dimensions. The focus of this artistic-philosophical consideration of the intersection of performance practices and life practices is on processes of emergence, survival, and decay, tracing the emergence of bio- and necropolitics. The book looks at performative (life) cycles and their temporal dimension, emphasizing the moment of dwelling at a threshold or transition, thus spinning a relational textual web. Mariella Greil brings together contributions from the fields of performance, activism, psychoanalysis, and contemporary dance, connecting content and form in a unique way. Mary Wigman was one of the most celebrated dancer/choreographers of the modern era, and was an iconic figure in Weimar German culture. She was known for her incorporation of non-Western instrumentation and dance, as well as for pioneering work in dance therapy. In addition to documenting important cultural history, this autobiography demonstrates Wigman’s personal passion and her role in shaping the art form.

Die Corona-Pandemie verdeutlicht, wie eine Gesellschaft mit eingeschränktem körperlichem Miteinander und verringertem Bewegungsradius Formate des Teilens entwickelt. Im Teilen verbirgt sich eine Doppelbedeutung: mitteilen und teilhaben, aber auch zerteilen, Differenzen erfahren. Welche Bedeutung hat das Teilen für die tänzerische Praxis? Welche Formen des Tanzes treten dabei hervor? Und welche Zugänge des Teilens wurden in Online-Formaten entwickelt? Die Beiträger*innen des Bandes betrachten Ausschlusspraktiken und untersuchen das Teilen aus einer dekolonialen Perspektive, um (Un-)Möglichkeiten des In-Kontakt-Tretens von Kunstschaffenden, Forschenden und Zuschauenden zu entwerfen.
