Since its beginning in the early 1900s, career counseling has been steeped in the traditions of the positivist world view. In essence, career counseling involved assessment, diagnosis and prediction where the counselor assumed the role of an expert and the client that of a passive responder. With the influence of the constructivist worldview, irreversible changes in the world of work, and increasing demand for career counseling services, career counseling has been challenged to modernize its practice. Le paradigme du tiers en éducation et formation est un champ de recherche neuf. Certes, Jacques Lacan en psychanalyse et Michel Serres en philosophie ont montré la centralité du tiers dans la construction du psychisme et le développement de la pensée, mais leurs intuitions n'ont pas été poursuivies par la recherche en sciences de l'éducation. Le présent ouvrage vient combler cette lacune en présentant à la fois des fondements théoriques permettant de penser le tiers et des analyses de situations concrètes.
