Volume II/28 is a supplemented and revised edition of the preceding volumes II/7, II/15, II/21, II/23 and II/25, containing up to date information on the geometric parameters (internuclear distances, bond angles, dihedral angles of internal rotation etc.) of free inorganic and organic polyatomic molecules. All experimental methods for the determination of quantitative structural data of free molecules have been considered: microwave, infrared, Raman, electronic and photoelectron spectroscopy as well as electron diffraction. The data obtained by these methods have been critically evaluated and compiled. They are presented separately for each molecule, together with a computer-drawn schematic figure of the structure and the original literature.

This doctoral thesis by Cecilia Goyenola focuses on the theoretical modeling and experimental design of carbon-based thin films, specifically sulfocarbide (CSx) and carbon fluoride (CFx) compounds. The research employs the Synthetic Growth Concept (SGC) based on density functional theory to predict and design these films, emphasizing their structural diversity and technological applications. The work includes a detailed analysis of precursor species and their role during film deposition. The thesis also explores the ternary system CSxFy, highlighting potential synthesis and structural features. This research bridges theoretical physics, chemistry, and practical experimentation, contributing to advancements in material science and technology.

"Cemented Carbides describes all aspects related to the fabrication and examination of cemented carbides, starting from the production of raw materials and ending with final operations of surface finishing and coating. Basic phase diagrams of WC-based cemented carbides are presented and analyzed. Technological processes and equipment employed on different stages of the cemented carbide manufacture, including milling, granulation, pressing, sintering, surface finishing and deposing wear-resistant coatings are described, as well as modern techniques and instruments employed for controlling the microstructure and properties of cemented carbide."--
