Der demografische Wandel stellt neue Anforderungen an das Bildungssystem. Angebote intergenerationellen Lernens gewinnen in der Erwachsenenbildung daher zunehmend an Bedeutung. Erwachsenenbildner/-innen stehen bei der Entwicklung intergenerationeller Bildungsveranstaltungen vor der Herausforderung Lernprozesse zwischen den Generationen - die sonst eher beiläufig im Alltags- und Familienleben geschehen - durch gezielte Lernangebote zu ermöglichen. Die Autorin geht in ihrem Buch empirisch der Frage nach, wie Erwachsenenbildner/-innen mit dieser Herausforderung umgehen und wie intergenerationelle Lernprozesse gestaltet und umgesetzt werden können. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse ermöglichen Aussagen über die Professionalisierung und Qualifizierung von Erwachsenenbildner/-innen im Hinblick auf intergenerationelles Lernen und geben Anregungen für die Forschung und erwachsenenpädagogische Praxis. Demographic change makes new demands on the educational system. Programmes of intergenerational learning are becoming increasingly important in adult education. Professionals who are working in adult education are facing the challenge to enable intergenerational learning processes - which usually occur only in everyday and family life - through the development of specific courses. The author investigates in her empirical study the question of how adults respond to this challenge and how intergenerational learning can be enabled and realized. Her findings allow the author to speak authoritatively about the professionalization and necessary qualifications of people in adult education with regard to intergenerational learning and to present proposals for research into, and the practice of, adult education. This book presents the basis, both theoretical and practical, of two volumes brought out by W. Bertelsmann Publishers, "How Generations Manage Joint Learning: Theory and Practice of Intergenerational Learning" and "How Generations Manage Joint Learning: Methods for intergenerational training and education". The Author The book is the author's doctoral thesis which she submitted to Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
