Les concepts de Heimat, le sentiment d’appartenance à un lieu et à la patrie, interprétés à la lumière des événements actuels en Europe, sont au centre de l’exposition présentée par Nicolò Degiorgis (Bolzano, 1985), commissaire invité de Museion pour 2017. Hämatli & Patriæ aborde le thème en utilisant le symbolisme de la peinture flamande de 1570 de Simon de Myle intitulée Noah’s Ark sur le mont Ararat, qui représente le débarquement plutôt que le départ de l’arche, comme il est habituellement représenté dans les œuvres d’art. S'inspirant de cette scène curieuse, presque grotesque, l'exposition a été conçue comme une mise en scène à grande échelle du tableau lui-même, interprétée de manière contemporaine. Des questions telles que la migration, le nationalisme, le populisme et l'identité sont abordées sous la forme de dialogues inspirés par les figures humaines, les animaux, les objets et les situations représentés dans le tableau. L’exposition, qui présente plus d’une trentaine d’œuvres (vidéos, sculptures, installations, photographies, dessins, livres d’artistes et documents), prend la forme d’une installation à explorer qui donne à réfléchir aux visiteurs sur certains événements de ces dernières années.

"Que signifie prendre racine, s'insérer dans un espace, le faire nôtre, le transformer à notre image et, en retour, devenir autre sous son influence ? En somme, que signifie devenir "habitant" ? Le terme a longtemps été péjoratif chez nous : quasi-synonyme de personne inculte, rustre, ours mal dégrossi ; le péquenaud des Français. À tort. C'est toute une aventure que celle de devenir habitant, aventure que nos aïeux ont menée à bien, de façon exemplaire, en construisant ce pays. Il n'y a pas de plus beau destin que celui d'habiter pleinement un lieu. Ce petit livre cherche à en témoigner. L'auteur, un universitaire avec des velléités de terrien, livre quelques extraits de ses carnets qui témoignent, de manière fragmentée, d'un parcours d'enracinement (si on lui passe l'apparente contradiction de la formulation). Ce long parcours couvrant presque un demi-siècle a peut-être une valeur représentative : ainsi, il serait le témoin d'un moment, d'une époque, d'une génération. Peut-on être enraciné ? Certes, on a un parcours. Mais l'enracinement est-il possible ? Si on s'enracine dans un espace, un temps, une communauté, une famille, une parentèle, c'est pour en être déraciné inévitablement, hélas, à plus ou moins brève échéance. Des traces peuvent demeurer, toutefois. Des fragments…"--

In a world of increasing mobility and migration, population size and composition come under persistent scrutiny across public policy, public debate, and lm and television. Drawing on media, cultural and social theory approaches, this book takes a fresh look at the concept of population' as a term that circulates outside the traditional disciplinary areas of demography, governance and statistics--a term that gives coherence to notions such as community, nation, the world and global humanity itself. It focuses on understanding how the concept of population governs ways of thinking about our own identities and forms of belonging at local, national and international levels; on the manner in which television genres xate on depictions of overpopulation and underpopulation; on the emergence of questions of ethics of belonging and migration in relation to cities; on attitudes towards otherness; and on the use by an emergent alt-right' politics of population in forgotten people' concepts. As such, it will appeal to scholars of sociology, geography and media and cultural studies with interests in questions of belonging, citizenship and population.

Theologians and Old Testament scholars have been at odds with respect to the best interpretation of the imago Dei. Theologians have preferred substantialistic (e.g., image as soul or mind) or relational interpretations (e.g., image as relational personhood) and Old Testament scholars have preferred functional interpretations (e.g., image as kingly dominion). The disagreements revolve around a number of exegetical questions. How do we best read Genesis 1 in its literary, historical, and cultural contexts? How should it be read theologically? How should we read Genesis 1 as a canonical text? This book charts a path through these disagreements by offering a dogmatically coherent and exegetically sound canonical interpretation of the image of God. Peterson argues that the fundamental claim of Genesis 1:26–28 is that humanity is created to image God actively in the world. “Made in the image of God” is an identity claim. As such, it tells us about humanity’s relationship with God and the rest of creation, what humanity does in the world, and what humanity is to become. Understanding the imago Dei as human identity has the further advantage of illuminating humanity’s ontology.Canonically, knowledge of the contours and purpose of human existence develops alongside God’s self-revelation. Tracing this development, Peterson demonstrates the coherence of the OT and NT texts that refer to the image of God. In the NT, Jesus Christ is understood as the realization of God’s image in the world and therefore the fulfillment of the description of humanity’s identity in Genesis 1. In addition to its specific focus on resolving interdisciplinary tensions for Christian interpretation of the imago Dei, the argument of the book has important implications for ethics, the doctrine of sin, and the doctrine of revelation.
