This report proposes to investigate the contribution of probiotics administration in allergic disorders treatment, including implicated mechanisms and efficiency. J Allergic disorders such as atopic dermatitis, asthma or rhinitis, result from systemic inflammatory reactions, as a consequence of immune responses mediated by TH2 cells against a “innocent” antigen. It’s also important to notice that the intestinal mucous membrane is colonized by a plentiful and diversified microflora. Recently, favourable effects of these bacteria on health were demonstrated. By definition, probiotics are alive microorganisms, which have a beneficial effect on host health after the administration of an adequate dose. Because of their ability to modulate the microbiota and immune responses, they could be considered are as a new therapeutic alternative in the allergy. Studies on this subject show promising results but are not sufficient to recommend a systematic use of probiotics in allergy. For the moment, mechanisms remain uncertain and require to be studied in details.
