This medical dissertation by Hanna Tigerstrand Grevnerts from Linköping University investigates treatment decisions following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and evaluates the measurement properties of the International Knee Documentation Committee Subjective Knee Form (IKDC-SKF) as a patient-reported outcome measure (PROM). The study systematically reviews the IKDC-SKF's measurement properties, translates it into Swedish, and tests the Swedish version for reliability and validity. It also surveys orthopedic surgeons and patients to understand the factors influencing recommendations for ACL reconstruction (ACLR) versus non-operative treatments. The research aims to provide insights into the treatment decision process and improve evaluation methods for ACL injuries.
