Allergy is a main problem of public health in the world. Many people in all countries are suffering from this problem. Some diseases (i.e. allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, food allergy, urticaria, eczema, etc.) have allergic reaction pathophysiology, and with control of allergic mechanisms, these diseases can be controlled and cured. The current book entitled Allergen has focused on allergy, mechanism, diagnosis, treatment, and other related problems. Chapters of the book have good data on allergy-based medical sciences and would be a benefit for all researchers in immunology, allergy, and asthma fields. Current discussions would be useful for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of atopic patients. We hope these chapters could be a new approach in immunotherapy of allergic diseases and help in the progress of healthy system.

Behcet's disease is a multisystem inflammatory disease with unknown etiology and has a unique geographic distribution. It is characterized by recurrent oral aphthous lesions, recurrent uveitis, skin lesions, and genital ulcerations. However, it may involve the eye, joints, and cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and neurological systems at varying degrees as well as the skin and mucous membranes. The disease may manifest itself in a wide spectrum of symptoms ranging from mild symptoms to life-threatening symptoms or severe symptoms that may create permanent sequelae. Knowing the nature of the disease will make it easier to diagnose and manage the disease. Because genetic factors can impact immune responses, and immunogenetic associations serve as a predictor of disease development and as a biological indicator of disease progression, the study of immunogenetics is important to basic genetics and immunology, as well as to translational and individualized medicine.This book addresses a few but important issues on the subject of immunogenetics. First, it will review the role that human leukocyte antigen molecules play in the immune system and then take into consideration the effectiveness of Western blotting for the detection of immunologic proteins. The book will discuss studies on the immunogenetics of cancer and tuberculosis followed by implications for immunotherapy. The two volumes of Acute Phase Proteins book consist of chapters that give a large panel of fundamental and applied knowledge on one of the major elements of the inflammatory process during the acute phase response, i.e., the acute phase proteins expression and functions that regulate homeostasis. We have organized this book in two volumes - the first volume, mainly containing chapters on structure, biology and functions of APP, the second volume discussing different uses of APP as diagnostic tools in human and veterinary medicine.
