Under the direction of John Scheid, Olivier de Cazanove, Filippo Coarelli and Adriano La Regina, the study of places of worship in ancient Italy is a major project that materializes with the publication of this series of fascicles Fana, templa , delubra (FTD). All sources, archaeological and literary, from the VIIth century. av. and VII e s. apr. AD are inventoried in relation to specific places of worship. The general framework of this corpusis that of the Augustan regions, within these, the input units are the cities of the Roman era. The religions of ancient Italy cannot be understood as local subdivisions of a universal religion, Italic or Roman; they formed homologous but autonomous microsystems. It is therefore necessary to study the testimonies on religious life in their geographical, institutional and social contexts. This third volume of the series deals with the ancient cities of Allifae , Bovianum and Saepinum , of the Augustan region I - Lazio / Campania, which correspond to the modern municipalities of Alife, Bojano and Sepino of the province of Campobasso (region of Molise). The remains of places of worship bear witness to the limits of the territory and help us to weave on the map the extent of these regions as well as that of their neighbouring neighbours.
