Abstract

This book, written by Abdelaziz Khalfallah, offers a personal testimony and historical account of the Wilaya II of Constantine during the Algerian War of Independence. The author reflects on his involvement in the armed struggle and the political dynamics within the FLN party, highlighting the contributions of key figures like Boubnider Salah. The narrative delves into the complexities of resistance against the colonial regime, the internal conflicts within the nationalist movement, and the sociopolitical challenges faced post-independence. Aimed at preserving the memory of the revolutionary period, the book also addresses the disillusionment with the current state of political and social affairs in Algeria, urging the new generation to reconnect with the country's historical values. This work is intended for those interested in Algerian history, political activism, and the legacy of the Algerian Revolution.

Abstract

Abstract

John Neville Figgis (1866-1919) was a historian, political theorist and monk, his writings extensively influenced the history of ideas and prefigured the theological developments of the 1920s. First published in 1916, this second edition of a 1907 original provides six chapters on various aspects of political thought from between 1414 and 1625, together with one introductory chapter and extensive notes. It was derived from a The Birkbeck Lectures for 1900, which were delivered by Figgis at Trinity College, Cambridge. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in Medieval history, Renaissance history, and the history of ideas in general.
