Challenges in complexity and variability of multimedia data have led to revolutions in machine learning techniques. Multimedia data, such as digital images, audio streams and motion video programs, exhibit richer structures than simple, isolated data items. A number of pixels in a digital image collectively conveys certain visual content to viewers. A TV video program consists of both audio and image streams that unfold the underlying story. To recognize the visual content of a digital image, or to understand the underlying story of a video program, we may need to label sets of pixels or groups of image and audio frames jointly. Machine Learning for Multimedia Content Analysis introduces machine learning techniques that are particularly powerful and effective for modeling spatial, temporal structures of multimedia data and for accomplishing common tasks of multimedia content analysis. This book systematically covers these techniques in an intuitive fashion and demonstrates their applications through case studies. This volume uses a large number of figures to illustrate and visualize complex concepts, and provides insights into the characteristics of many algorithms through examinations of their loss functions and straightforward comparisons. Machine Learning for Multimedia Content Analysis is designed for an academic and professional audience. Researchers will find this book an invaluable tool for applying machine learning techniques to multimedia content analysis. This volume is also suitable for practitioners in industry. .

"A systematic review of the structure and context of the blockchain-derived economic model... (the book) describes cryptoeconomics in connection with the game theory, behavioral economics and others in simple understandable language."--Wang Feng, founder of Linekong Interactive Group and Mars Finance, partner in Geekbang Venture Capital Blockchain technology has subverted existing perceptions and is the start of an economic revolution, called, cryptoeconomics. Blockchain is a key component of cryptoeconomics. Vlad Zamfir, a developer of Ethereum, defines this term as "a formal discipline that studies protocols that governs the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services in a decentralized digital economy. Cryptoeconomics is a practical science that focuses on the design and characterization of these protocols". This book explains the structures of blockchain-derived economic models, their history, and their application. It uses real-world cases to illustrate the relationship between cryptoeconomics and blockchain. Blockchain technology solves trust issues. A blockchain application can restrict behavior on the blockchain through a reward and punishment system that enables consensus in an innovative way. The greatest significance of cryptoeconomics lies in guaranteeing safety, stability, activity, and order in a decentralized consensus system. Security and stability are achieved mainly by cryptographical mechanisms. Activity and order are achieved through economic mechanisms. Cryptoeconomics and Blockchain: Ignighting a New Era of Blockchain discusses the most popular consensus algorithms and optimization mechanisms. With examples explained in clear and simple terms that are easy to understand, the book also explores economic mechanisms of blockchain such as game theory and behavioral economics.

Part of the new series, Advanced Topics in Science and Technology in China, this book is designed to give the necessary theoretical foundation to new users of the finite element method in implant dentistry, and show how both the implant dentist and designer can benefit from finite element analysis. The first part deals with the theory of the finite element method. containing the necessary mathematical theory but written so that readers from a dental background can easily understand. Then basic knowledge of implant dentistry is introduced to readers from an engineering background. Next, dental implant applications, and the critical issues of using finite element analysis for dental implants are discussed, followed by aspects of dental implant modeling. Finally, two popular commercial finite element software programs, ANSYS and ABACUS, are introduced for dental finite element analysis. Dr J.P. Geng is a professional implant dentist and has been an implant designer for 15 years.
