Autobiographical story of the friendship of two young writers. The summer of the lost World Cup 2010. It is a year since David's old friend Brent died. As boys they dreamed of becoming a writer. They debuted together but were very different writers with very different lives. Brent's early death and his anger that he had wanted to do it differently, raise the question: what have I made of it, my writing life? If there is a vengeful figure from their past Groningen pops up, it has become impossible to go that question out of the way. David must look in the black mirror of the past. This playful and intimate novel is based on Dirk van Weel Dens friendship and cooperation with Martin Bril (1959-2009). Lovingly, revealing, resourceful and sometimes raw.
